A Match Made at a Wedding

Sierra and Nick’s journey began at a friend’s wedding in September 2021, and they’ve been inseparable ever since! Their love story is one for the books, and I was over the moon to capture their classic car engagement photos! Let me tell you, it was literally the perfect spring day, the kind that photographers dream about! The temperature was just right, the skies were clear, and the golden hour lighting towards the end of our session was pure magic!!

Planning the Perfect Classic Car Engagement Session

For their engagement session, Sierra and Nick rented a stunning vintage car. I was obsessed! This classic beauty added a whole new dimension to their classic car engagement photos, giving them that old-money, documentary-style vibe that we were aiming for.

Ocean Drive in Newport, Rhode Island, provided the perfect backdrop. This iconic location has breathtaking water views, dramatic cliffs, and a sense of timeless elegance. We spent about 2 hours and 30 minutes exploring this incredible spot, capturing Sierra and Nick in various poses, both candid and creatively staged.

Making the Session Uniquely Yours

Working with Sierra & Nick

Working with Sierra and Nick was always a dream! Sierra, being an entrepreneur and content creator, is a natural in front of the camera. Her confidence and creativity shine through in every shot. Nick, on the other hand, is the epitome of a go-with-the-flow kind of guy. His easy-going attitude made him open to trying out funky poses and creative ideas, which made their classic car engagement photos even more fun.

I love when I get to capture couples multiple times, documenting their life milestones and getting to know them not just at the session but outside of it, becoming friends. This is what I strive for with all my couples! This wasn’t my first shoot with Sierra and Nick. Back in 2022, they modeled for a creative couple’s session I wanted to bring to life. I first met them at a content shoot for a local shop where Sierra and I both attended. It’s amazing how our relationship has evolved over the years. Now, I’m beyond excited to photograph their wedding next year in Providence!

Classic Car Engagement Photos

The highlight of the session was definitely the classic car!! We did a mix of shots with Sierra and Nick driving the car along Ocean Drive, as well as some stunning posed photos with the car parked against the backdrop of the ocean and cliffs. They were magazine worthy in my opinion!!

Towards the end of the session, as the sun began to set, I decided to try something new. I grabbed my flash and started experimenting with some dramatic lighting. Oh. My. Gosh. The results were phenomenal! The photos had an editorial, almost cinematic quality that was different from my usual style, but I absolutely loved it. And Sierra was thrilled too! These classic car engagement photos turned out to be some of my favorites!
